  • How long will my hair system last?
All hair systems have an average lifespan before replacement is required. It depends on how well you take care of it and how it is treated ie working conditions, recreational sports etc. On avaerage your hair system should last anywhere between 6 weeks and 6 months dependant on which system you purchase. Ongoing maintenance is also a key factor in the lifespan of your system. It should also be noted that the real human hair is threaded into either a lace or skin base system and this will gradually shed over a period of time We will provide full details of how to look after your hair system including washing, conditioning and which are the best styling products all of which is covered in your free consultation.
  • How should I maintain it?
Looking after your hair system is extremely simple. Regular washing with tepid water is important whenever you notice the hair is dirty. It is also necessary to use a daily leave in conditioner to restore moisture and elasticity of your hair. Air drying is recommended, however in a hurry a warm hair dryer can be used from a distance from the hair system. Washing your hair system 1-2 times per week and more frequently if doing a lot of sport. Dry shampoo can be used to refresh the system on a daily basis if needed, however you don't need to wash your hair system everyday. We advise that on average you will need remove the hair system to clean and replace the adhesive bond/tape every 2-4 weeks. We offer a maintenance plan within our salon, which includes the removal of your hair system, a full wash & clean followed by your system being re-applied and styled.
  • Is my hair system secure? Will it come off?
The short answer is that your new hair system is secure and will not come off.
  • Am I guaranteed 4-6 weeks wear?
Our systems are held using a strong holding bond which generally last this amount of time, however 4-6 weeks is an approximation based on our clients to date. The duration of your hair system will depend on your lifestyle and the correct usage of our recommended products. Not caring for your system or following the aftercare advice given can reduce the wearing time.
  • Is my hair system waterproof?
Yes most definitely! You will be able to shower and wash your hair like normal, although you are required to do this less frequently as no oils from your scalp will affect your hair as would be the case of your own natural hair If you are a regular swimmer that’s fine too. We will advise you on a more regular maintenance program to preserve the life of your hair system. You should treat the hair system with care, just as you would with your own hair. It is important that you wash and condition after swimming in the pool or sea with recommended products to rid the system of chlorine, salt water or other harmful elements.
  • Would anyone be able to tell I wear a hair system?
No one will know that you are wearing a hair replacement system as the hairline is undetectable when applied correctly. even close up. Our systems are made with a lace or a skin poly base. Both replicate the scalp and the hair will look as if it is growing from your own scalp. We use only the most natural looking hairlines. Our hair systems are also extremely comfortable to wear.
  • Can I change the colour of my hair system and what about if I have grey hairs?
Our hair systems are made with natural human hair which will allow you to have your system coloured or even highlighted, we would however only recommend that this be conducted within our own salon or by a stylist that is professionally trained in hair replacement systems. We will colour match your hair system even if you have grey hair. Your new hair system will have a percentage of grey hair to match your own human hair and this will create the absolute most natural look.
  • Can I wear a cap?
Yes. You can wear a cap and this will have no detrimental effect on your hair system. We would advise that this is worn more loosely than usual as we do not want the cap to pull out the hair from the base of the system. You may experience itching of the scalp and sweating if it is worn for long periods just as you would with your own hair.
  • Can I use gel and other styling products in my hair system?
You can use products which are recommended to you by your stylist these will include hair sprays, gels and mouse. We have a starter kit available for you to take away with you on the day of fitting and we can also recommend products that will help achieve maximum lifespan of your new hair system.
  • Are there side effects of wearing a hair system?
None of our clients have suffered any side effects from the hair replacement systems we have fitted. Both the poly and lace based systems are breathable and allow air to the scalp which helps to ensure the system is comfortable to wear. We have various bonds and tapes, which are tested at the consultation stage, this is to ensure we use the best product on your scalp to attach the hair system. Both the bonds and tapes are extremely secure and have a similar lifetspan. Unlike some surgical treatments there are no invasive scars after the fitting of your hair system as it is a natural process.
  • What kind of hairstyles are possible with my hair system?
All kinds of hair styles are possible with our system. We advise you to have a good idea of the style you would like and have some pictures where possible to show your stylist as it will need to be cut and styled once it has been attached. Most wearers find that the hair systems are better for styling and find it allows them to experience a wider variety of styles than they could with their own natural hair. Our stylists have many years of experience in the hair industry and are always on hand to offer help and advice.
